Pattern Decisions This Source Supports

Pattern Supported decision Required contract Claim note
Chip selection Choose chip selection when the chip set itself is the user's answer to a short choice question. Selecting a chip changes only that chip group's answer and does not navigate, run an action, remove the option, or filter unrelated content. Wise chip guidance distinguishes choice chips from filter chips and supports compact chip rows with stable ordering, short text, and limits on overly long chip sets.
Filter chips Choose filter chips when there are a few high-frequency filters that can stay visible near the result set without overwhelming scanning. Selecting a filter chip toggles only that filter and updates the result count or result list without changing unrelated query, sort, pagination, or view state. Wise chip guidance distinguishes filter chips from choice chips, supports multiple filter selections, stable order, placement above content, and short labels.
