About the guidance
Editorial method and responsibility
UX Patterns Guide publishes the learning material and decision guides on this site. The project is maintained in the public repository owned by artpar. Corrections can be sent to artpar@gmail.com.
Who prepares the content
The editorial material is prepared with AI assistance and attributed to UX Patterns Guide. A publisher byline identifies responsibility for the page; it does not imply review by an independent UX expert. Named contributors can be credited for the work they actually perform.
What a source supports
We distinguish standards, technical documentation, design-system guidance, and examples from existing products. The worked decisions link directly to the primary material and explain which claim each source supports. A convention in one product is context for a decision, rather than proof that every product should behave the same way.
How worked decisions are constructed
Examples labelled “constructed” are illustrative scenarios. Their records, names, and quantities help explain a decision; they are not observations from a user study. The state tables show a proposed contract, its boundaries, and checks a team can perform in its own setting.
Interactive lab examples demonstrate related behavior. A browser check of an example is narrower than an accessibility audit or a usability study. Teams should test their production implementation with the relevant devices, assistive technology, and people.
How to read the dates
A worked-decision update date identifies an editorial revision. A source-check date applies to the claims cited in that worked decision. Older catalog verification dates describe the broader catalog reference trail; an updated example does not imply that every linked reference was rechecked.
How corrections are handled
Report the page URL, the statement in question, the relevant source or observed behavior, and the setting where it matters. This makes the correction reviewable. We revise the affected guidance and its date when the evidence warrants a change.
