Pattern Decisions This Source Supports

Pattern Supported decision Required contract Claim note
Range slider Choose a range slider when users need both a minimum and maximum value on one known numeric scale. Each thumb controls one endpoint in a related value pair. Carbon range slider guidance defines minimum and maximum number inputs, two handles, track, min/max labels, exact input, click and drag behavior, and date-picker avoidance for date ranges.
Slider Choose a slider for one adjustable numeric or relative value inside a known range. Moving the thumb changes one value within the declared minimum and maximum. Carbon slider guidance distinguishes default single-value sliders from range sliders and documents labels, min and max, number input pairing, value display, states, and keyboard interaction.
